Alexander Carson’s award-winning short film Numbers & Friends continues its strong festival run with a Closing Night screening at Rooftop Films in New York City. The event will be held at Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, at 8:00pm on August 16. We’re looking forward to being a part of such an innovative and inspiring platform for sharing indie film with audiences in new spaces!

To kick off the new year, we’re awfully pleased to finally share Sandy’s recent film “Last Communication With Laura” in its entirety. This lyrical short is a farewell love letter to a girl named Laura, and it’s playing next at the Anthology Film Archives in New York City on March 17, 2010, as part of the NewFilmmakers program. If you’re in the area, come out for the show and maybe a drink afterward on the occasion of St. Patrick’s. So here’s the film–enjoy!

We are pleased to announce a new collaboration between Nicholas Martin and NCC’S longtime friend and colleague, New York playwright/narrative artist Royce Vavrek. Belly of the Bear is a theatrical rockabilly musical being written with the support of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. The story will follow two families: one family of human hunters, one family of anthropomorphized bears. Can they live in harmony? This script promises to be funny, subversive, and catchy. Work gets underway in NYC in October.
