Feeling very honoured to be nominated for 5 Alberta Motion Picture Industry Awards for our first feature film, The Valley Below! The nominations are in the following categories: Best Dramatic Feature Film (Alexander Carson, Cameron Macgowan, Kyle Thomas), Best Screenwriter (Kyle Thomas), Best Director (Kyle Thomas), and Best Performance by an Alberta Actress (Michaela Cochrane & Mandy Stobo).

The 2015 Alberta Film and Television Awards will take place in Edmonton, AB on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the SHAW Convention Centre. Looking forward to it, and congrats to all our fellow nominees!

BLACK HILLS NOMINTED FOR 3 AMPIA AWARDS!

We are thrilled that Cameron Macgowan’s 2012 film Black Hills has been nominated for 3 Alberta Motion Pictures Industry Association (AMPIA) Awards: Best Screenplay (Drama under 30 min) for Cameron Macgowan, Best Performance by an Alberta Actor for Peter Strand Rumpel, and Best Editing (Drama under 30 min) for Ken Filewych.

Many thanks to everyone who worked on this film, and a huge congrats to all of the other nominees! The awards will take place on May 25 at the Winspear Centre in Edmonton.

At the Alberta Motion Picture Industries Association awards at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary on May 12, 2012, Kyle Thomas received the Best Screenwriter Award for Drama Under 30 Minutes! His film Not Far From The Abattoir has now garnered several awards at major international festivals, and we’re very proud to be representing this great work in Cannes later this month! Kyle Thomas’ film Not Far From The Abattoir has received 5 award nominations from the Alberta Motion Pictures Industry Association! As the film’s producers, Kyle and Cameron share a nomination for Best Short, while Kyle is personally nominated for Best Director, Editor, and Screenwriter in the Under 30 Minutes categories. NFFTA‘s lead actress, Mandy Stobo, is also nominated for Best Performance by an Alberta Actress!

The awards ceremony and gala dinner will be held on Saturday May 12 at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary. We are ever-grateful to all our amazing cast and crew who helped make this film such a success!

NCC’s newest member Cameron Macgowan has received 4 award nominations from the Albert Motion Picture Association for his recent film BAD DAD, produced with the generous support of the Albert Foundation For The Arts, in 2010. The film is nominated for Best Short, Best Director Drama under 30 mins, Best Writer Drama under 30 mins, and Best Editor under 30 mins. The 2011 Alberta Film & Television Awards will be held on Saturday May 28 at the Edmonton Marriott. Cam has recently hosted Bad Dad online, so please check it out.
